Coding and undoing of a future world, mapping human impact on the organic world, but also the impact of the global political and cultural changes on our interior world. A reflection on the impact of our time on the future, the flow of materials, waste and environmental change across boarders and boundaries. Organic forms, in constant metamorphosis.
The imagery resulting from this working process becomes a visual expression of my childhood memories of home: of the ocean, and its dangerous, beautiful rocky shoreline; of the fauna and flora surrounding the cape coast in South Africa. Ideas about travel and displacement, deconstruction and rebuilding are all undercurrent themes of my work.
